Commercial window cleaning contracts: what to include
A commercial window cleaning contract is a type of formal agreement between a business and a cleaning company. This covers everything from what work is required, how often and how much this will cost. Here are just some of the terms which should be included within the contract to ensure both parties are clear on their responsibilities and the agreement goes smoothly:
Work required – This should include which windows require cleaning, such as exterior, interior, glass office walls, skylights, door frames etc.
How often – How often will the windows be cleaned. You should agree on a schedule which could be monthly, quarterly etc. If some windows require to be cleaned more often, then ensure this is noted clearly within the contract.
Costs – This should be crystal clear within a contract. The agreement must show a breakdown of all the costs including the total. It should also outline other details such as date, payment method, additional charges etc.
Cancellation terms – Ensure this information is listed on the contract to cover yourself if either party decides to end the agreement or cancel without notice.
Responsibilities of both parties – Some professional cleaning companies will bring their own equipment, even the water required. However, if this is not the case then the contact should outline whether the customer needs to provide access to the building, the water supply, parking.
Insurance and liability – All cleaning companies must have insurance and liability cover in case of any accidents or damage. Ensure this is detailed in the contract and the type of insurance held by the cleaning company.
