What do you need for window cleaning?

Window cleaning may seem very simple when you watch a professional at work, but in order to achieve a flawless result, it is necessary to use several pieces of specialist equipment in order to reach and clean windows in the most effective way possible.

For instance, something as simple as a bucket must be carefully selected for the job at hand. Some buckets allow hands-free access, which can be useful for windows which require a ladder to be used. other times, high capacity may be more important, requiring a larger bucket.

In addition to this, there are a range of tools which can be used to clean the window face itself. These include:

  1. Squeegees – used to apply the window cleaning liquid to the glass
  2. Scrapers – used to remove hard to remove dirt or stains from the window surface
  3. Cloths – used to dry the window, ensuring a clean finish. The best kind of cloths to use are microfibre cloths which will not leave any stray fibres on the window.

In addition to these basic tools used to clean a window, a range of tools are needed to reach high up or otherwise hard-to-reach windows. This can be as simple as a ladder, but modern professional window cleaners will often use a water fed pole, which allows high up windows to be cleaned from the ground, or for larger jobs even a cherry picker.

In addition to all of this, a good window cleaning solution is needed. The simplest version of this which will do an acceptable job is a mixture of dish soap and water.
