How do you remove streaks from glass?

You have just spent hours cleaning your windows – hosing them down, making and using a vinegar-water solution, wiped them down with a squeegee – only for them to be covered in streaks. So, how exactly do you create streak-free glass?

The best way to start with combatting streaks is by beginning to use a streak-free window cleaner. Some store-bought solutions will leave residue behind, which is why we suggest making your own solution. To create this, you can mix equal parts of distilled white vinegar and water and mix it in a large spray bottle.

We would suggest cleaning windows with a microfiber cloth, which will help to create a streak-free shine. You should avoid using newspaper as this will leave streaks on the window surface. Spray your windows with the cleaning solution, and then wipe it away with the microfiber cloth.

Make sure you use a minimal amount of your cleaning solution on the glass, so that you can avoid streaks. If you spray too much, it will result in streaks because the microfiber cloth will not be able to absorb all of the liquid, and you will end up smearing the cleaning solution, as well as the dirt and dust, all over the window.

If you find that there are any remaining smudges after you have cleaned the windows, then we suggest using a microfiber cloth.

We hope that this guide will be useful to help you see how you can have beautiful streak-free glass windows.
